La película mexicana La Caída, que “aborda temas de violencia sexual y salud mental en el deporte”, y su protagonista Karla Souza, triunfaron este lunes en los premios Emmy Internacionales en Nueva York ganando Mejor Película para Televisión y Mejor Actriz. Fue una de las dos películas latinoamericanas que fueron premiadas esa noche. Su banda sonora fue compuesta por la artista y música chilena Rubio y su colaborador musical Pablo Stipic, continuando su incursión en diferentes proyectos musicales. El año pasado, Rubio ganó el prestigioso premio mexicano Diosa de Plata por la canción destacada “Después de Ahogarme.” “Esta fue la primera película para la que compuse con Pablo y estamos agradecidos de que el equipo tuviera confianza en nuestro trabajo. El concepto general era crear una especie de ópera submarina y así nació 'Después De Ahogarme'. La experiencia fue hermosa. He hecho música para documentales y producciones teatrales, pero esta es mi primera película y es fantástico recibir tanto reconocimiento porque la música fue fundamental para la trama. Espero que esta sea la primera de muchas bandas sonoras por venir”, dice Rubio.

Recientemente Rubio lanzó su anticipado álbum Venus & Blue, junto al cortometraje Nacimos Llorando y apareció en Pitchfork y Rolling Stone, entre muchos otros medios de primer nivel. También debutó en Global Spin en los Grammy, apareció en KEXP Sessions y realizó una gira por Estados Unidos con Ambar Lucid como parte de su gira Estrella Part 2. Próximamente, podrás ver a Rubio en el Festival Fauna Primavera en Santiago, Chile el 24 de noviembre, el Festival Trópico en la Ciudad de México el 9 de diciembre para apoyar a víctimas del Huracán Otis en Acapulco e Isla de la Luz en Santo Domingo el 9 de marzo.

The Mexican film La Caída, which “addresses issues of sexual violence and mental health in sports,” and its protagonist Karla Souza, triumphed Monday at the International Emmy Awards in New York winning Best Television Film and Best Actress. The film was one of two Latin American movies that won awards that night. The film’s score was composed by Chilean artist-musician Rubio and her musical collaborator Pablo Stipic, continuing her venture into different musical projects. Last year, Rubio won the prestigious Mexican award, Diosa de Plata, for her achievements in this film for the standout song on the soundtrack, "Después de Ahogarme. “This was the first film I composed with Pablo and we are grateful that the crew was very confident in our work. The general concept was creating a sort of underwater opera and that's how ‘Después De Ahogarme’ was born. The experience was beautiful. I’ve made music for documentaries and theater productions, but this is my first film and it feels great to get so much recognition because the music was critical to the storyline. I hope this is just the first of many soundtracks to come,” states Rubio. Recently, Rubio released her long-awaited album, Venus & Blue, alongside a short film Nacimos Llorando and was featured on Pitchfork and Rolling Stone amongst many other top tier media. She also made her Grammy’s Global Spin debut, was featured in KEXP Sessions and toured around the U.S. with Ambar Lucid on her Estrella Part 2 Tour.
